Finally, I can breathe a little...
This week has been incredibly busy for me - between my transcribing, my recruiting, my shuttling the kids around - it's been a crazy week. Tonight is the first time this week where I didn't have any running around. Next week looks a little bit better too - no CCD classes next week so that puts an ease to my running around a bit. The kids have joined the church choir and are singing at Mass on Sunday with the adult choir I'm in so that should be fun. We're gearing up for a big garage sale this weekend. Hopefully we'll get some nice extra Christmas cash. Certainly comes in handy when Brandon's Christmas list is filled with electronic gadgets galore. His clothes are getting a little bit more expensive too...darn that Abercrombie & Fitch store!!

I didn't go out and get Halloween costumes this year...Maddie just wants to be a ballerina and Kait wants to be a basketball player again for the 100th year in a row LOL and Brandon seems to think that he's too old to go trick or treating. He said that last year and last minute decided to go. At least I've got my Halloween candy bought, but it looks like the candy is slowly disappearing (Bryan) so I'll probably end up getting more this weekend.

Well, it's almost time for me to plop on the couch with my glass of wine and watch my fave show "Grey's Anatomy" but first I gotta go fold some clothes and get them put away before the show starts....

Diamonds are a girl's best friend
Christmas is just around the corner and I'm trying to get my list together. Bryan's pretty good about knowing what I want, he listens throughout the year of things I like and want and he writes them down and puts them in his wallet. Last year I didn't have jewelry on the list at all but I think it's time for him to head to the diamond jewelry store . I know that when purchasing jewelry (especially diamonds) it requires a lot of thought, and not something that should be done hastily. I'd love to get a nice diamond anniversary band. I don't need something big and gawdy, just something simple with some sparkle. I saw one that I liked on primestyle.com, they have a beautiful selection of diamond rings and jewelry. I'll have to tell Bryan to read my blog today so that he'll get the hint.

The high cost of prescriptions...
I picked up Bryan's prescription for Celebrex the other day and couldn't believe how much I paid for it. It cost $35 for a 30 day supply. We do have prescription coverage, but unfortunately that's our cost. We had to wait almost five days before I could pick it up - we had to wait for authorization from our insurance company and doctor's office before it was approved. Evidently, anyone under the age of 75 who is prescribed Celebrex must get prior authorization, due to the risk of possible heart attack, etc. He's on such a small dose of the Celebrex anyways, his doctor said it did not really pose a threat to him. He's on so many other medications for his Arthritis it makes my head spin. Good thing his doctor uses a PDA that keeps track of all of his meds. She uses it to cross reference everything to make sure none of his meds interfere with each other or she'll use it to look up new meds she might prescribe. She does this through a company through Epocrates, who also just developed an online version to physicians as well.

Want to increase traffic to your website?
Of course you do. Who doesn't? Search Engine Optimization is a great way to achieve this. Simply using Google Adwords is not enough. There are two factors that determine what website is considered most relevant when people use a search term: relevant content on your site and your popularity on the web compared to your competition. USWeb is a company that has everything you need to help you rank at the top of the search engines, like Google. What do you have to lose? Try them out and see how much traffic you gain from them!!

It's Wednesday....
It's been a little while since I last posted so here's a quick update. Kait had her basketball game Saturday - scored two baskets. Had a great time, practically lost my voice with my usual screaming and cheering for the team. LOL. Went shopping Sunday, totally exhausted by the time we got home Sunday night. Brandon is so dang picky when it comes to clothes now. Was I like that in 6th grade? Can't remember. Trying jeans on for that boy is not fun. He probably tried on 20 different pairs. Finally settled on about 3 pairs. Kaitlyn is a little picky too. She didn't want anything too girlie. Didn't want anything with a lot of pink in it either. She likes a lot of those attitude shirts (no surprise there). Her favorite one she got was one that said "My Dad said I Could" Perfect. That describes Bryan pretty well. ha ha Maddie on the other hand - the girl loves EVERYTHING. No complaints from her at all.

The kids went back to school today. Woo hoo...I've finally got a little bit of peace and quiet around here. I'm catching up on laundry and picking up around the house. Got a busy afternoon/night ahead - basketball practice, CCD, my choir practice. So with that said, I'll get off of here for now and get back to my chores :)

It's another crazy Saturday
Saturdays have always been the craziest for me. Maddie has ballet at 10:00 and Kait's game is at 1:00 today. I've got errands to run in between and by the time I get home I'm always exhausted. Thanks goodness Brandon doesn't have anything going on on Saturdays.

It's getting cooler here. We welcome the change. Right now it's 66 degrees outside and the high will be probably around 84. This is why we love living in AZ. We see pictures of the big snow storms back east and thank our lucky stars we never have to go through that here.

Busy Busy Busy...
Geez I've been so busy these past couple days with all of my transcribing and recruiting. It's been pretty hectic with Bryan gone as well. He got back tonight. He was in Utah for a convention. Whew. I don't know how single parents do it. My hats off to them who make it work. On a sadder note, I got an email yesterday regarding a choir member's husband who passed away suddenly on Saturday. It was shocking news. They both are very active in our church. Apparently he had had a massive heart attack. I will be singing (along with many other choir members) at the funeral. My thoughts and prayers are with you Angie. Know that I am thinking of you.

You just never know what could happen. Life. It's such a precious thing.

It's late....I know....
I'm up trying to finish up some laundry. Oy it's just never ending. It's kind of nice and quiet though. I probably shouldn't be drinking this Diet Dr. Pepper. The caffeine probably isn't helping any. I missed my favorite show tonight...when the hell did How I Met Your Mother change it's time? It really ticked me off. I'll have to see if I can view it online just like every other show. LOL. The weather is FINALLY getting nice over here. I'm still using the air conditioner in the van but tonight when I got home I opened up all the windows and turned the attic fan on. Boy, that really cooled the house down!! I'll be glad when our electric bill is lower than freakin' $200. Okay, I hear the buzzer...time to get that stuff out of the dryer. Good Night.

Wanted to share....
Boy I just love the internet. I found a website that I can print out worksheets for Maddie in helping her print her name. There are different styles you can choose from - they are being taught the D'Nealian style in school. Look below for a screenshot of a sample worksheet. You can see how it really shows the child where to start in printing each letter.

She loves it and has me print out worksheets for her all the time. Kind of like we're playing school. I do the same thing for Kaitlyn but just choose the "cursive style". Hmmmm, should I start homeschooling them? NOT!!!!!

Fall Break
My kiddos are off school for the next couple of weeks - they return on October 18th. They go to a modified year round school. School starts early for them - typically at the end of July and runs through the first week of June. They get 2 1/2 weeks off in October, 2 1/2 weeks off in December, and 2 1/2 weeks off in March. I love their schedule. It works great for us. I also believe they retain more from the school year in the summer since they really only are out for six weeks.

Right now Kaitlyn is sick and she missed basketball practice last night and will miss again tonight. She's probable for Saturday's game. As she was throwing up this morning at 5:00 AM, all she could say was I'm okay - I'm okay - I'm okay - I can make it to the game on Saturday. Poor thing. I'm exhausted. I should have drank more coffee this morning...I wish Starbucks delivered!!

Cardinals lose....AGAIN
I'm getting really tired of reporting this. It's really no surprise. We've never had a winning season. I really thought it was going to be different this year. I guess not. What's up Kurt Warner? I've always been supportive of you, even though everyone thinks you're washed up, but now I realize it's time to hand over the reigns to Matt Leinart. I think he is our future now. Come on Matt, BRING IT ON!!

The confusing world of stocks
We've been looking at different routes to take as far as our 401k goes. With Bryan turning 40 this year, we're really trying to make more of a dent in our account. There's a website that I found that gives you great stock options advice . It's the best way to Find, Compare, Analyze, and Make Money On Stock Option Trading. All of that mumbo jumbo regarding the different types of stocks available is confusing to me. At least this site can help you analyze 2,900+ optionable stocks and 190,000+ options online to find investments to meet your profit goals. You can even sign up for a free 14 day trial. You can't beat that!!
